Setup Electrum on Tails

Start Tails
First be sure to start your Tails instance.

Connect to Tor
Use the Tor Connection pop up window and select "Connect to Tor Automatically" to connect. Allow a few moments for it to work.

Open Electrum
Now select "Activities" in the top left of Tails. Search for Electrum and select it. You will see a warning, select Launch.

Create your Wallet
On the first screen that comes up select next to make a new wallet. Select "Standard Wallet"

Create a New Seed
Now ensure "Create a new seed" is selected. And click next.

Save or Store Key
NOTE: Since persistence is disable you will LOSE this wallet on restart. If you want to reuse this wallet later be sure to note down the seed. If you do not wish to save it just temporarily store it as you will need it for the next step.

Confirm Your Seed
Now on the next screen confirm the seed by retyping it.

Creat a Password
If needed you can create a password but with persistence disabled in this lab you can click "Next" without doing this.

Generate a BTC Address
You now have Electrum ready! Click on the tab labelled "Receive" and you can create a request. No amount is required. Click on "Create Request"

Use BTC Address
Now you or someone else can use the address on the right side of the screen to send BTC and it will arrive in your Tails OS Electrum wallet!
